Welcome Message

Welcome to Lafayette, Tennessee

Lafayette is located North East of Nashville; population of 4,474.  Our Municipal Airport has a 5,200 ft runway.  Lafayette has the small town atmosphere with many locally owned shops and businesses.  The City has two parks for local residents to enjoy.  Key Park offers a walking track, a pavilion with a grill and tables for gatherings and a playground for the children.  Key Park also has RV Sites for visitors to stay. The City Park, located on Days Rd.,  has two pavilions, basketball, tennis and volley ball courts available for public use.  The Lafayette city pool is also located at the city park.

I am excited about the new Winding Stairs Park.  The city received a RTP TDEC grant contract for $186,320.00 to go toward a $232,900.00 improvements project for the Recreational Trails Program.

As Mayor of the City of Lafayette, I strive to ensure that the City maintains services, programs and facilities that meet the needs of the community in a fiscally responsible manner.  Our City employees take special pride in all the work that we do.  Here neighborhoods are built and maintained with the residents in mind.  The City's services are designed to meet the needs of our community, and for businesses to find a welcoming home.

The City of Lafayette employees work hard everyday to:   Provide Exceptional Service,  Act With Integrity and Treat Others With Respect.

To better serve our customers, we now have the ability to send out a phone call to let our customers know if they are on our delinquency list before being disconnected for nonpayment. The call service will also be used for contacting our customers if there’s a disruption of service due to water main breakage.  If you are unsure if we have the correct phone number on file, on your account, give us a call to verify that information.  615-666-2194.

It is the policy of  the City of Lafayette to not discriminate on the basis of race, sex or disability in its hiring and employment practices, or in admission to, access to, or operation of its programs, services and activities pursuant to the requirements of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990.
